My son dropped his Ds and cracked the bottom scrren and now has no sound. I seen your step by step process to replace the bottom screen but is there a way to fix the sound or replace the speakers?

The sound may be a problem with the motherboard or something as simple as a loose cable. Impossible to tell without looking at it.
