Zune HD LCD Screen Replacement Tutorial
This tutorial will show you how to replace the LCD screen in your Zune HD. To do this you'll have to almost completely disassemble your Zune.
Stuff you will need:
- A few small screwdrivers (flat head, tri-wing)
- Ziplock bags for screws and small parts
- X-acto knife with the flat #17 blade

Remove the power button (it slides right out) |

Remove the black cover on the bottom of the Zune HD. To do this you have to push it down and then towards you (if you're holding it like shown in the picture) |

Remove the button on the side of the Zune HD. It sits on the post circled in green so you'll have to gently move it back & forth until it comes off. |

Pull on the two cables that used to be under the motherboard to peel them off the frame. |

This is probably the hardest part of the job. You have to separate the front cover from the frame. There are 7 clips that hold them together. The best way to do this is to start with the clips circled in green. Use your flathead screwdriver to push the black clip in the direction of the arrow as you pry between the frame and the front cover with your x-acto knife. There is some adhesive so this will take a while. Work on them until you get the three green clips separated. |

This is what you'll see after you separate one side. Now just repeat the process on the other side. |

Now all you have to do is use your x-acto knife to pry off the old lcd screen. It is attached with some adhesive. Installation is the reverse of removal. |
