DS Screen Replacement Tutorial

The top screen is one of the most commonly damaged parts of the DS. If the top half of the DS is still attached to the bottom half your DS is probably salvageable. This tutorial will show you how to open the top half of the DS and replace the screen and backlight.

You can purchase a replacement DS screen in the Zombie Store.

Symptoms of a broken DS screen:

Dead or stuck pixels (black dots or lines on the screen)
Parts of the screen are black or garbled
The screen is cracked or spiderwebbed.

Stuff you will need:

Broken DS
A few small screwdrivers (phillips, flat head)
New DS screen

	First, you have to remove these four screws. They are covered by little silver pads. Just use a small flat head screwdriver to get them out of the way. After you remove the screws, the top cover should come off easily.
	This is the back of the top ds screen after you remove the cover. Remove the two screws.
	Lift up the green circuit board on the right side of the screen.
	This is the left circuit board. As you can see all the cables for the ds screen assembly are attached to it. Lift up the two black clasps and pull out the cables.
	Use a small flat head screwdriver to push the little tabs out and release the cable.
	Gently pry the ds screen assembly out with your flat head screwdriver. Installation is the reverse of removal.
