DS Lite Top Screen Replacement Tutorial

This tutorial will show you how to disassemble the top half of your DS Lite and replace the top lcd screen. Some minor soldering is required.

You can purchase a new DS Lite Top LCD screen and in our store. If you don't want to risk opening your DS, please consider using our DS Lite Repair Service (click HERE for more info).

Stuff you will need:

A few small screwdrivers (phillips, flat head, triwing or Y head)
Needlenose pliers
Ziplock bags for screws and small parts
Soldering supplies.

	You'll need to remove the cover from the bottom half of the DS Lite. This is covered in our DS Lite Bottom LCD Screen Replacement Tutorial.
	Remove the L and R buttons. Removing them is the easy part, but putting them back in seems to be a problem for a lot of folks. This picture shows how the button should look when reinstalled.
	This picture shows how the spring should be positioned to reinstall the button.
	Remove the screw circled in red.
	Unplug the black and white wires. Pull up on the metal part and they'll pop right off. Needlenose pliers help, but aren't necessary.
	This is the top screen cable. Lift up the brown clasp on the connector and pull the cable out.

	These two screws hold the two halves of the case together. Remove them.
	Slide the top screen cable through the slot on the shell and you push the bottom half of the shell to the right.
	Now that the top half is separated remove these four screws.
	Create a gap between the two halves of the top half of the shell by pushing the top cover.
	Use your flat head screwdriver to pry to top cover off.
	You can now see the LCD screen, speakers, wifi antenna, and mic.
	The screen is glued to the top screen cover. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry one side up and then pull it off completely.
	Remove the mic and pull the cable through the hole and out.
	Do the same for the wifi antenna.
	Roll the top screen cable into a tube and slide it through the hole.
	You'll need to desolder the speakers and resolder them to your new screen.
	If the screen came out with the cover still attached remove it now and place it back into the shell. It will be easier to install that way than trying to glue it to the new top screen.
