DS Lite Power Switch Replacement Tutorial

The power switch is a common weak point on the DS Lite. The thin "handle" of the switch breaks off and leaves you with no way to turn on the DS. The most obvious symptom is the power switch sliding back and forth without any resistance. This repair is harder than most because it requires some soldering knowledge and steady hands. The components you will be working with are very small.

You can purchase a new DS Lite Power Switch and other parts in the Zombie Store.

Stuff you will need:

A few small screwdrivers (phillips #00, flat head)
Triwing screwdriver
Wire Cutter
Ziplock bags for screws and small parts
Basic soldering equipment (iron, solder, desoldering braid, tip cleaner)

	First, take the cover off the bottom half of the ds lite. This is covered in our DS Lite Bottom Screen Replacement Tutorial. This is what a broken switch looks like. As you can see the black "handle" is missing.
	Use your wire cutter to break the switch apart.
	This is what a new power switch will look like.
	There are six points that need to be soldered.
